Cessnock Goannas

Cessnock Goannas are one the most recognisable clubs in Country Rugby League with its history spanning more than 100 years. The club has produced many state and national representatives with the most notable being Andrew Johns, Matthew Johns and Bill Peden.

The Goannas have a strong rivalry with Maitland Pickers and Western Suburbs Rosellas, but their main rivalry with Kurri Kurri Bulldogs, known as the Coalfields Derby is easily the most anticipated fixture on the Newcastle Rugby League calendar each season.
